When it comes to buying a home, finding a property is the easy part. The Calgary real estate market is thriving right now, giving buyers many options when it comes to finding the perfect home. Whether you are on the hunt for a chic downtown condo, a detached home in the suburbs, a new infill in an established community, a luxury property or anything in between, Calgary has something for you.
Buying a home is an extremely personal investment. With so many options available on the market, homeowners get the luxury of picking whatever will be best for them.
Buying a property is not all about keeping up with the Jones's. Do not waste your valuable time and money trying to find a home just like everyone else. You need to make a long-term decision that benefits you. After all, you'll be the one living with it.
There are many factors that go into purchasing a home, such as location, job opportunity, space requirements and desired amenities. However, one of the most important factors is type of property. Different property types have different pros and cons. Carefully evaluate all your options before committing.
Congratulations Team Ken Richter on placing 28th in the RE/MAX Western Canada Top 100 Individuals for May 2017. This is a great testament to our valued clients who choose to partner with Team Ken Richter time and time again. We are very excited about what we have been working on this summer and look forward to a strong month ahead. Thank you to all of our clients for your continued support.

First, enjoy the beautiful drive through the heart of Alberta's prairies that slowly turn into the badlands. In the town of Drumheller there are plenty of places to stop for lunch, along with over 30 dinosaur statues hidden around the town. Don't forget to climb the world's biggest dinosaur statue, a massive T-Rex standing 86 ft. tall, at the heart of Drumheller. The vantage point from its mouth boasts beautiful views.
At the Royal Tyrell Museum there are beautiful, life-like, to-scale exhibits for you to marvel at. This immersive,
Selling your home is a lot of work. There is lots of purging, cleaning, re-organizing, packing, viewing, moving and setting up to be done. Add kids to the mix, and it is a task for only the strongest of heart. However, know that the task ahead is not impossible. You have extra bodies to coordinate, but it has been done successfully before and can be done successfully again.
Realize that your kids are as much a part of the move as you are. They are going to have to say goodbye to the property and all the memories they made. They might be preparing to leave friends behind. They may not understand why you are moving to begin with. This is a huge deal for everyone involved.
Get your kids excited about the moving process. Explain to them why you are
Stampede season is in full swing! We hope that the rain has not dampened your spirits at all and that you take time to celebrate and go have fun. Nothing kicks off a great summer in YYC quite like the Stampede.
By now, most people know the basics about the Stampede: it’s called the largest outdoor show on earth, there is a rodeo where you can win big money, the midway is full of quirky food, etc.. However, here are some interesting facts about the Calgary Stampede that you may not know:
Crash Landing: “During the 1919 Stampede, the revelers of Calgary had their midway fun suddenly interrupted by the expected emergency landing of a Curtis Jenny biplane on top of the midway carousel” (Flight Network). Luckily no one was injured and the show went on
CREB® is happy to report that "Calgary’s housing market in June saw a modest improvement in sales along with an increase in new listings." This is great news for both buyers and sellers! For buyers this means that there are more options available for purchase, and for seller's this means that there are actually potential byers for their property.
There was a lot of inventory gain in June. Inventory levels were 11% higher than last years average, coming in at 6,659 units. However, CREB® affirms that despite this, the market remains stable. They report, "second quarter activity continues to demonstrate improved supply-demand balance and price stability. City wide benchmark prices totaled $441,500 in June. This is a 0.5 per cent gain over last month and
