Gardening season is upon us, and the secret to a great garden is great soil. What makes soil great? Compost!

Thanks to the City of Calgary, every home has a Green Compost Bin. You can regularly put compost waste in it for collection, or you can keep it inside your yard and do your own thing. If you choose to make your own compost, here is what you need to do:

March 20th was the first official day of spring. Crazy, right? Since then we have had a number of snowstorms and cloudy skies, most notably yesterday when it snowed all day long. The good news? The snow was wet and heavy, and the heat of the sunshine today has already begun to melt it. While Mother Nature seems to want to keep winter around, the sun is on our side. Thank goodness!

It is civic census time!

What even is a civic census? The City of Calgary writes, "The Civic Census is the official count of dwelling units and the population who are living in these units, by the door to door physical collection and recording of data.
