Stampede Season has arrived!

Today's Stampede Parade kicked off the beginning of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, which takes place from now until July 14th. Get ready for fantastic events, inspiring showcases, homegrown country music, delicious treats and so much more. It seems like every year the Calgary Stampede gets bigger and better, and this year is no exception.

Not sure where to start? Here are 5 things to check out during this Calgary Stampede:

1). Dill Pickle Everything: From Dill Pickle popsicles to Dill Pickle pizza, dill is set to be a main ingredient in this year's Stampede! You can check out all of the ingenious and audacious new creations down at the Midway. Craving the classics? Don't worry, the funnel cakes and mini doughnuts will be out in full force too.

2). Cowboy Up: This event is newer compared to most, and features daring cowgirls and cowboys performing obstacle course on their horse! You will be amazed at the trust between rider and horse, as well as intrigued with all of the challenges they must face while keeping an eye on the clock.

3). Stampede Dream Home: Each year one lucky winner walks away from the Stampede with not only a belly full of fried food, but a brand new home! You can explore this year's Stampede Dream Home on the grounds. If you don't win but still want a new home, call us at 403-630-6363!

4). Craft Beer: Calgary's craft beer scene has been exploding in popularity this past year. In honor of this, Stampede has opened up shop to invite craft breweries to showcase their cold drinks in places such as The Big Four building. If you want something different than Budweiser, check them out!

5). Awe-Inspiring Shows: This year there are more shows than ever to choose from! Check out the Dog Bowl, Nik Wallenda's thrill show, the Monster Energy Compound, Bulls after Dark, Light Balance, the Grandstand and so much more.

The Calgary Stampede always reminds us of how proud we are to be a part of this great city. It is a reminder of where we began, how far we have come, and what to look forward to out here in the wild, Wild West.
