There is lots happening in the community of Bowness right now! Here are some of the highlights:
- On December 2nd the Bowness Community Association will be hosting their annual Christmas Dinner. Make sure you have your tickets (note: there is a limit of four tickets per Bowness resident). The BCA is in need of volunteers for this event, which is a fantastic way to serve the community and spread a little Christmas cheer. Click here to find the online volunteer application. Pictured on the right is Ken (far left) and Vivian (far right) volunteering at last year's event!
- On November 25th Bowness is hosting Shop Local Saturday. This event is aimed at showcasing local shops on Main street Bowness and encouraging people to support small business owners. Get a hot chocolate and say hello to stores new and old. Some will have special offers just for you free activities for you to enjoy. This is a great way to get reacquainted with your community! Visit the My Bowness Facebook page for more information.
- The City of Calgary has been doing major roadway developments throughout the Bowness community (you may have noticed this by the increased traffic). The great news is that they are almost done! They are still working on the west end underpass and some other minor things, but come spring we should have fully functioning roads again. Make sure you are conscious of those new bike paths--even though its snowing, many people use winter bikes. Enjoy!
- Did you catch the Bowness & Montgomery feature in the latest edition of CREBNow? Learn more about local businesses, the history of Bowness and Montgomery, future goals and current demographics. We are so proud that they featured our great community! For those of you looking to buy, sell, or invest in today's real estate market, CREBNow is a great resource. Find information on the market and Calgary as a whole. You can sign up for their email or pick up a copy at your local grocery store. If you look closely, you may even see a familiar face in this week's issue...
