In Calgary we are known for many wonderful things: The Calgary Stampede, being the gateway to the mountains, the pandas at the Calgary Zoo, our gorgeous new downtown Library, our support of small, local businesses, our friendly citizens, Mayor Nenshi (once voted the best in the world), our sports teams, that time William and Kate dropped by during their royal tour, and so much more. Now, something new is being added to the list of things that puts Calgary Alberta on the map: Breweries.
Albertan's have always loved craft beer. Their passion about home-grown ingredients, local entrepreneurs, good food and good beer have all created the perfect storm. Calgary has become a hotspot for craft breweries, making it THE western Canadian destination of people who love craft beer. Local establishments and nationwide chains all carry craft beer from Calgary brewers, proudly showcasing Alberta's finest brewing talent. Many brewers also have their own established breweries, where they carry their own beer and serve up incredible food inspired by this great city.
