Inglewood Real Estate

Inglewood

Inglewood is a historic neighbourhood located in the city’s southeast, bordered by the Bow River and Deerfoot Trail.  It is Calgary’s oldest community but offers residents so many great attractions and amenities. Inglewood was established in 1875 after Fort Calgary was built.  Its main street, 9th Ave SE was probably "Calgary’s first main street”.  Today you can see the historic charm throughout the area with many craftsman architecture buildings and historic charm.  There are many shops, cafes, stores and restaurants along 9th Ave SE which is known as the area’s shopping and arts district.  9th Street is quickly redeveloping itself into one of Calgary’s best and most prime shopping locations.  Amenities in the area include the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, Calgary Zoo, Stampede Grounds and the Elbow River Casino.  Residents also have many parks and outdoor recreational spaces.  The Inglewood Wildlands is an open green space located along the Bow River.  Pearce Estate Park is to the north and the Inglewood Golf and Curling Club are located east of the river.

Inglewood has a heavy focus on infill properties with some of the city’s most affluent homes.  These residences can be found between 7th Ave SE and 9th Ave SE.  Most of these properties have been redeveloped and typically go for more than $1 million.
