Mount Royal University

Founded in 1910, Mount Royal swiftly made a name for itself as an incredible post-secondary educational institution. It was originally a Junior College that allowed students the opportunity to upgrade before applying to Universities such as the University of Calgary, with many of the students eventually transferring to other schools or leaving school to serve in the armed forces. A war memorial on the ground honours the alumni that served in the great wars.

In the 1970's an aviation program was added, and in 2009 it gained full University status. With programs for everything, from Business to Nursing, Mount Royal is becoming a favourite for local and international students looking for quality education. Their motto is "How Well, Not How Much," a true testament to their desire to produce quality people who had value to wherever they go.

Some notable alumni from Mount Royal include Paul Brant, one of Canada's most famous Country music singers, Doris Anderson, a women's right advocate and editor of Chatelaine magazine, Dave Pierce, an emmy winning composer, and Alison Redford, former premier of Alberta.
