Banff was first established in the 1880's after workers on the Canadian Pacific Railway stumbled across natural hot springs while working in the bow valley. It was quickly settled and a booming resort town began to grow. Banff was the first town to ever be incorporated within a National Park, and has been tremendously popular ever since.
