West Nose Creek Park
West Nose Creek Park gives us a glimpse into Calgary's Ice Age Past. This small valley was carved out of the land when glaciers, which now rest hundreds of kilometers away in the mountains, receded from Canada's prairies. One of the most notable features of this park is what locals affectionately call 'Split Rock,' a massive rock perfectly split down it's center. Legend has it that the split was caused by lightening, but in reality the break was likely caused as the receding glacier deposited this massive erratic.
