Family Day Weekend Update

Happy long weekend!

There is nothing quite as glorious as having not one, not two, but three days in a row off! Long weekends feel like the only weekends you get to truly relax, which is why we are planning on making the most of it. They only come around once every month or so, after all!

Not sure what to do this long weekend? Here are some ideas:

  • Stock up your DVR by scheduling it to record all of the Olympic events! Since South Korea is in a much different time zone, all the best Olympic action is happening while we're fast asleep. Load up the DVR, pick up all your favorite drinks and snacks and binge-watch away. The bonus? You can fast forward through all of the commentary and get straight to the action.
  • Spend a day going around Calgary and doing everything you've always said you wanted to do but never have bothered to actually do. Check out Winsport, the Calgary Towner, Glenbow Museum, Inglewood, 17th Ave and that restaurant you've been following on Instagram but never been to.  Bring your camera to take lots of pictures of your adventures, then finish the night off with take-out and a movie at home.
  • The weather seems to be fluctuating a lot recently, so take advantage of the snow while it lasts. The City of Calgary maintains over thirty official tobogganing hills around the city. Put on your warm clothes, pull out the sled and have some good old fashioned fun. Finish the day off by checking out the YYC Hot Chocolate festival and getting a gourmet, limited edition hot drink.
  • Join in on the Chinese New Year celebrations happening around the city! Head to the Chinese cultural center to learn about Chinese culture, enjoy food vendors, shop for traditional goods, see performances and the beautiful Chinese lantern displays. The Core is also putting on various events throughout the weekend in honor of Chinese New Year.

Have fun this weekend!
