This is a strange month for events, since so much is up in the air with COVID restrictions. While we’re trying to stay positive, we wanted to make sure this month you get some suggestions of things you’ll be able to do no matter what COVID restrictions are in effect. Here are our top 10 suggestions:
- Go Skating on Bowness Lagoon. The weather is cold enough for ice, but warm enough that you won’t freeze out on the pond. Check out their new ice pathways!
- Shop Local in Inglewood! Wandering through the local shops in Inglewood is such a fun way to spend an afternoon. Check out the Spice Merchant, Plant, Rosso Coffee and more.
- Check out our local murals! You can view maps of where all the prettiest murals are in the city. Take a friend and a camera, and enjoy!
- Enjoy an at-home music night. Make a comfy space for everyone and take turns playing your favorite songs for everyone to soak in and enjoy.
- Drive through Calgary’s older communities, like Mount Royal and Bowness, to check out the gorgeous old homes. We have some beautiful homes here in YYC.
- Check out Hexagon, a board game café. There you can get a warm drink and enjoy playing board games you don’t have at home.
- Take a day trip to Canmore. It’s less busy than Banff but has equal opportunities for views, shops, and BeaverTails; plus, you don’t have to pay the park fee.
- Explore a new Calgary park. There are the classics, like Fish Creek and Nose Hill, but plenty of hidden gems. Dedicate yourself to trying one new park each week.
- Learn a new hobby at home! Hobbies like woodworking, cross stitching, and drawing are all ones you can do at home. Learn some tips from Youtube and dive into a new craft!
- Try out a new local restaurant! If you don’t want to dine in, pick up items to go; this way the restaurant gets your hard earned money, not Uber or SkiptheDishes. Try a new meal you wouldn’t normally get while supporting local.
