It’s summertime and despite the raging floods that hit Bowness back in June, Bownesians decided they were going to take an overdue break to enjoy their annual Heritage Day Street Festival.
Vendors set up stalls, the neighbourhood’s main street was filled with live music, food and festivities, Hexters was rockin’, and cyclists hit the streets for the annual Tour de Bowness criterium road race. Enthusiastic crowds were on a mission – they were out to celebrate!
Bowness may not be back 100%, but it’s coming. Everything takes time. It’s a process, but they’ve turned the page and are heading forward from here. Heritage Day Monday August 5, 2013 is a testament to that. A day that Bowness celebrated it’s enduring community spirit yet again, showing that no matter what, they will have great times every year during the Bowness Heritage Day Street Festival!
