HEX Halloween and Entertainment Expo || October 11 || Avenue Calgary writes, "The organizers of now-defunct ScreamFest are back with an epic new event. Part fan expo, film festival and spooky carnival, Hex features celebrity guests, cosplay, a marketplace, screenings, games and haunted houses to explore." Thanksgiving Pie Bake-Off || October 10 - 11 || The Calgary Farmers Market writes, "Fall is on its way and thoughts of turkey dinner are starting to tempt your taste buds. To help you select the pie you will serve this year, join us for our 7th Annual Thanksgiving Pie Bake-off from 10am-2pm on Thursday, October 10th and  Friday, October 11th." The Imaginairium by Wordfest || October 14 || Avenue Calgary writes, "take in ten lively days of workshops, readings, performances and more as The Imaginairium by Wordfest returns with 76 artists at 56 events throughout the inner city. Frankenstein || October 23 || Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, widely considered the first science fiction novel, is coming to a stage near you. Alberta Ballet writes, "A highly-anticipated world premiere, showcasing six leading-edge designers, Jean Grand-Maître’s Frankenstein will feature a massive multi-media set design, sophisticated state-of-the-art projections, and a powerful, haunting soundtrack."
