Say 'Farewell' to Flu Germs

Raise your hand if you know of someone who has the flu right now.

Alright, that is all of us! Welcome to the flu season, everyone!

The flu is a nasty virus that mutates and evolves every single year, rendering past vaccines and bouts of it absolutely useless. What your body gets stronger fighting one year comes back fiercer the next. So, how can you stop the flu from attacking your home?

The first step is acceptance. The flu goes around every single year, and every single year people act way too surprised. Be conscious that it is coming so that you can begin with some preventative measures before the season begins! Also accept that you are susceptible no matter what your lifestyle is. A healthy body will enable you to fight the virus faster, but it won’t completely prevent you from catching it.

The second step is preparation. One of the best ways you can combat the flu is by making sure that you do everything you can to fend it off. Start taking your vitamins, wash your hands frequently, and try, as kindly as possible, to stay away from people who are clearly sick with the bug. Make sure that you keep your workspace and living space clean and sanitary at all times, and wash your hands some more.

The third step goes into action once you, or someone in your household, has had the flu. Wash/Wipe-down everything! All linens, bathroom and kitchen towels, doorhandles, countertops, faucets, clothing, kitchen utensils, books, remotes, pillows, etc. The flu is a virus that will attach itself to anything and wait for its next victim. Don’t let germs build up: scrub your house from top to bottom if that’s what it takes! You don’t want to risk people in your home getting sick, because then it will turn into a never-ending cycle.

The flu is a belligerent virus, but it can be warded off if you understand that it is out there and how to combat it. The biggest thing is keeping everything around you sanitary so that even if it does make its way into your home, it will be stopped in its tracks. Keep your home clean, and your body will stay clean of the virus. It’s that easy! You just have to be diligent and aware.

All of us here at Team Ken Richter wish you and your loved ones all the best during the flu season!
