Happy Stampede season, Calgary!
Waking up to the first day of Stampede can feel like waking up on Christmas morning. The city is buzzing with visitors, country music, and the wild west spirit we still hold tightly onto. Stampede is such a point of pride for many Calgarians, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you.
As per usual there is an incredible lineup of events and things to check out this Stampede. Here are some highlights:
- The Evening Show: "The Calgary Stampede Evening Show is a unique entertainment doubleheader that takes place nightly at 7:45 p.m. The blast of a klaxon kicks off the Cowboys Rangeland Derby chuckwagon races—excitement that’s measured on the Richter Scale. When the last wagon thunders over the finish line, the fan-favourite Relay Races starts and the best Indigenous Relay Racing teams take the track! To conclude the evening, the Grandstand Show dazzles audiences with elaborate song and dance numbers" (Calgary Stampede).
- Music: Some incredible artists are coming to the Stampede this year! They include, but are not limited, to: The Jonas Brothers, Miranda Lambert, Nickelback, Motley Crue, Ne-Yo, Ceelo Green, Jewel, Dean Lewis, Billy Talent, The Beaches, Benson Boon, Megan Maroney, Josh Ross, Lindsay Ell, James Barker Band, and so many more!
- Immersive Disney Animation: The greatest outdoor show on earth meets the most magical place on earth! Step into the art and legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios and celebrate the music, artistry and animation from the creators of 'Frozen', 'The Little Mermaid', 'Big Hero 6', and many more" (Calgary Stampede).
- Midway Food: Ready for your mouth to water? Prepare for items such as a Watermelon Burger, Lobster Bao, Pulled-Pork Mac and Cheese, Sour Candy Soft Serve, Gator Pepperoini Pizza, Biscoff Mini Donuts, Sticky Hickory Corn Ribs, Whipped Lemonade, and so much more.
- Fleurs de Villes: "Fleurs de Villes Country will transform the BMO Centre into a floral wonderland with twenty-two of their famous floral mannequins, meticulously crafted by local florists and inspired by superstars of Country Music, from iconic classics like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton to contemporary chart toppers like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton" (Calgary Stampede).
