Finding a home: no one is naive enough to think it is going to be easy. Negotiations, research, setting up meetings–it all takes time and dedication. However, if you are willing to put in the work, you will reap the rewards of searching thoughtfully and diligently.
This is why having a good Real Estate agent is so incredibly important! You need someone who cares about your future home just as much as you do. They are going to bring the experience, expertise, and organization you need to make your house hunt a success! Team Ken Richter is very excited to journey with you, and we promise to work with you every step of the way!
We also have two big tips and tricks that you can be applying in your search to find your dream home. These are simple things that you should be doing and looking for to make sure the property and the neighbourhood are the right choice for you.
1). Explore the Neighbourhood: Check out what amenities are close by, ask neighbours what they like about the area, drive through it at different times of the day and night to see what the atmosphere is like, do some research on community events and news, etc.! We always stress that the property alone is not what makes a home; the neighbourhood your home is in is incredibly important! Think about what your needs are, both present and future, to make sure you find a neighbourhood that suits you.
2). Explore the Property: Now it is time to zero in. What does the property, both the structure of the home and any green space, look like? What things have been recently replaced, what things may need to be replaced? How old is the building and what is its history like? If the walls could tell stories, what would they say? So many little factors about what went on in the home can affect the future of the property. Try to gather as much information as you can so you can make an informed decision.
These are two overarching things you should be looking for. A quick google search can give you more exact things to inspect, and as always never be afraid to ask us! We’ll be keeping an eye out for you, too.
Finding a home is such an exciting process! We wish you the best of luck in your search!
