This thanksgiving season we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for this wonderful city we call home! Here are twenty-five things we're grateful for here in Calgary:
- The Bowness lagoon for swimming in the summer and skating in the winter
- Being one half of the Battle of Alberta during hockey season
- How gorgeous all the parks are when the trees turn golden in the fall
- The Lions Festival of Lights each Christmas
- Having not one, not two, but THREE farmers markets to enjoy
- Chinooks after stretches of freezing cold
- Stampede western spirit
- Hidden glacier erratics all over the city
- Seeing what color the Calgary Tower is each night
- The Winsport Skyline Luge
- Spotting celebrities when they're in town filming
- Gorgeous architecture, both new and old
- How close the city is to the mountains, and the view of them on clear days
- Maple Pecan ice cream from Village Ice Cream
- Spotting deer grazing on Nose Hill
- The dinosaur walk at The Calgary Zoo
- Old-fashioned sweets from Heritage Park
- The mini bus that takes you between terminals in the Calgary Airport
- Shopping the outlets at Crossiron Mall
- All the incredible restaurants, serving every type of food imaginable
- How condensed and pretty our downtown core is
- The magic of Theatre Calgary
- Community spirit in the face of disaster, like during the 2013 flood
- The horse flag run during a Stampeders touchdown
- How each neighborhood has its own personality
