Calgary Fringe Festival || Various Locations || August 4th - August 12th || The Calgary Fringe Festival is back! Avenue Calgary has this to say about it: "The Calgary Fringe Festival brings its outside-the-box theatre performances to Inglewood once again this August. Don't miss out on the local and international talent that will be on display and see one of the 160 performances offered over nine days of festival happenings." Movies At The Meadows || Spruce Meadows || July 19th - August 23rd || Enjoy a movie under the stars at the Spruce Meadows Green Ring. Spruce Meadows is screening family-friendly films for just $20 per carload of people or $15 per carload if you purchase your tickets in advance. There will be snacks available for purchase on the grounds. Upcoming films are: Back to The Future, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 and Rouge One. For more information visit their website HERE.
Calgary Draon Boat Race and Festival || August 12th - 13th || North Glenmore Park || They're back! "Calgary's annual dragon boat festival has been a tradition in this city for more than 25 years and will return to North Glenmore Park once again this August. Last year, 58 teams competed in the races. If you're not racing, admission is free and you can enjoy multicultural performances, live music, food trucks, a beer gardens and, of course, the competitions on the water all weekend" (Avenue Calgary). GlobalFest || August 15th - August 26th || Ellison Park || What is Globalfest? Avenue Calgary has your answer: "GlobalFest is an arts, culture and fireworks festival that celebrates diversity and artistic excellence. Each night of the festival includes the OneWorld Festival at Elliston Park, which includes a citizenship ceremony, tipi village, night market, cultural pavilions, and more. GlobalFest also includes firework displays in the park on each night. The artistic aspect of these displays are adjudicated.
