As we have said time and time again, one of the best parts of being a Calgary resident is the sense of community that is available to every single individual. Calgary consists of a collection of communities that are inclusive and actively seeking to make every Calgarians experience in this amazing city the best it can possiblely be. After all, it’s not only the property that makes a home: it is the community.
Here at Team Ken Richter we have the pleasure of working with communities all over the city. However, we have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work most closely with the communities of Montgomery and Bowness. Both are rich with history. This history is filled with one overarching theme that the first ever residents and present residents can easily identify: the communities of Montgomery and Bowness are filled with wonderful people that seek to make these neighborhoods the best they can possible be.
Both Montgomery and Bowness have active community associations that you can be a part of! Community associations are a fantastic way to stay updated on events going on in your community, from things such as concerts and block parties, to important area meetings and opportunities to volunteer. If you are someone who likes to get involved in your community, you definitely need to check these out!
The Montgomery Community Association hosts a number of events every month, from seniors socials to job workshops! There are lots of ways you can get involved, such as helping with the community garden and working with CSI (The Community Safety Initiative)! For more information, visit their website by clicking here!
The Bowness Community Association is dedicated to, “serve Bowness, building a stronger community for all by respecting the history, diversity and natural beauty of Bowness. To provide a gathering place and hub of information. To create connections through recreational, educational, social and cultural opportunities. To foster an environment of collaboration and respect with all stakeholders” (Bowness Community Association Website, Mission Statement). What more is there to say? Check out their website by clicking here!
If you are searching for a living environment that is going to foster growth and community, Montgomery and Bowness are excellent choices! They are shining examples of what makes Calgary such a friendly, inclusive place to live.
