It is shaping up to a glorious spring here in Calgary, Alberta. The sun is already shining, the snow melting, and some Calgarian's are being inspired to - brace yourself - pack away their mittens and toques. With such generous weather, calendars are filling up with fun things to do this spring. After all, here in Calgary we have learned to appreciate good whether.
The communities of Bowness and Montgomery have always been particularly active when it comes to bringing the neighborhood together in the name of family friendly fun. Have you visited either of these two communities lately? There have been numerous developments to each so that they can continue to serve Calgarian's well. They also have lots planned for this spring, so here are some things to check out in Bowness and Montgomery, Calgary:
Bowness
With new bike lanes along Bowness Road that go right past Bow Cycle, Calgary's top Bicycle Shop, you are all set to get outside this spring. Whether you are planning to bike from shop to shop on a relaxing Saturday afternoon (and perhaps even stop for a cold drink at the new restaurant on the strip, Leopold's Tavern) or are feeling motivated to bike to work each day, Bowness is here for you.
Bowness also has a very exciting event coming up that costs only $25.00, Rock For The Rink. The Bowness Community Association writes, "tickets are now available for the Rock for the Rink concert on April 27. Enjoy live music at the BCA featuring the WildRose Band with the talents of locals Ron A. McNeill and Georgie Lyons. All proceeds from the event will go toward twinning the Bowness Arena." Enjoy some music and support a good cause!

Montgomery
Our favorite things about Montgomery are the gorgeous parks, which are slowly starting to turn green and luscious once more, and NOtaBLE - The Restaurant. You can enjoy both this spring! Something notable about NOtaBLE - The Restaurant is that they have a fantastic lunch menu. It is slightly less expensive than their dinner menu, which makes it a good option for those on a budget wanting to try something new. Afterwards, take a stroll through Edworthy Park which is right across the road!
May 5th is going to be Montgomery's Community Clean Up Day, and you do not want to miss out on this opportunity. Start by spring cleaning your home and preparing everything you want to donate or dispose of. Bring everything to the centre on Community Clean Up Day and they will recycle, donate or throw away everything FOR FREE! They are also encouraging people to do something to help clean up the community, like pick up trash in the park or help rake leaves.

Enjoy these two incredible communities and happy spring!
