Making the decision to find a retirement home can be difficult financially and emotionally. The reason? For most this means moving away from a home they have had for many years.

One local Calgarian described how difficult it was to make the decision to sell the home she had lived in with her late husband for over thirty years. They had made so many memories in that house, and poured their whole hearts into it. She noted that while leaving was hard, the transition gave her freedom to move into the next stage of life, onto the next adventure. Now she lives in a condo near her grandkids that has given her the financial and physical freedom to travel and spend more quality time with her family. She said the decision to find a retirement home was…

Buying a home is an incredibly exciting process, especially once you have found a home you like! Many buyers are overwhelmed with excitement as they walk through a home that feels like the perfect fit: the neighbourhood is great, it's close to work and schools, the home itself has everything on their 'needs' list and even a handful of things on their 'wants' list. An offer is made and accepted, and the home officially is set to (hopefully) go to the new owners after the specified time. They find a home inspector just to make sure everything looks okay under the hood, and...

There are many exciting things you can do when you own a home, such as diversifying your investment portfolio and doing whatever home renovations you want. Another huge bonus? Getting to bring home a pet.

Often when renting, pets are not allowed at all, the kind of pets allowed are limited, or renters are charged extra fees per pet on the property. All of these options aren't ideal for anyone who loves having a furry friend around. This is why owning a property, where you get to make the rules, is so exciting! When you own your home, you can have as many pets as your heart desires.

Scientific studies have proven time and time again that people with pets live longer and are generally happier. Whether you have a dog, cat, rabbit, bird, fish, or…
