All of the love and care they put into making their house a home was for naught; now the bank owns it and they have to be gone by Monday. We feel sick hearing that word because everyone knows that foreclosure is not something you ever want to experience. So, what is it and how can you avoid it?

July 2019 Market Statistics

Good news, everyone! We are starting to see a trend emerge: inventory levels are declining, edging off a buyers’ market into more balanced conditions.

The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB®) reports, "for the fourth consecutive month, inventories in the market declined compared to last year. This is due to the combination of improving sales and a decline in new listings." While the market still leans towards benefiting buyers, if supply continues to reduce and sales balance out, we should see really strong conditions.

August 2017 Statistics

What was the Calgary Real Estate Board's overall message when summarizing the Calgary housing market for the month of August? Listings are outpacing sales.

 CREB® chief economist Ann-Marie Lurie had this to say about the market: “Employment growth is contributing to the stability in sales activity, but it is not enough to meet the recent rise in listings and make a substantial dent in inventory levels. Unemployment rates remain elevated and job growth is mostly occurring outside the energy sector, slowing the recovery process. Broader economic improvements will be required prior to it translating into substantial improvements in the housing market.”
