YAHOO, CALGARY! It is officially Stampede Season. The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth is hitting the Stampede grounds from July 4-13, and we are so excited for the festivities. Every year the Calgary Stampede brings something new to the city, so don't fool yourself into thinking you've been there, done that. Pull our your cowboy boots, turn the radio to country music, and check it out!

It is the most exciting time of the year... The Calgary Stampede has announced some of their unique, bizarre, mouth-watering, tasty 2025 midway treats! Here are the ones that we are most looking forward to trying out:

  • Spam-pede Bao: "Inspired by a traditional Hawaiian snack filled with savoury spam, juicy garlic shrimp, sweet pineapple, fresh cucumbers, seaweed and drizzled with teriyaki sauce" (The Calgary Stampede).

And just as quickly as it arrived, the Calgary Stampede has come to a close. It truly is one of the greatest times of the year with the greatest outdoor show on earth. The Stampede is such a point of pride for Calgary, and every year we look forward to experiencing it! We already cannot wait until next year, but in the meantime, here are some highlights from this year:

  1. The Music Lineup: Each year we are always surprised to see who is performing at the Stampede, and this year was no different. There was something for everyone, whether you attended a big show in the Dome or the Cowboys tent.

Waking up to the first day of Stampede can feel like waking up on Christmas morning. The city is buzzing with visitors, country music, and the wild west spirit we still hold tightly onto. Stampede is such a point of pride for many Calgarians, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you.

The Calgary Stampede is right around the corner, and we cannot wait to celebrate the best ten days of the year with you, YYC! We are so excited for this years' shows, food, events, shopping and western spirit. In celebration of Stampede being less than one month away, here are some fun facts about this years' Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth:

It was another Stampede for the books!

We had so much fun celebrating with you, Calgary. The theme for the 2022 Stampede was ‘Together Again,’ a fitting sentiment. As many of those who didn’t return last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis came back to the grounds for the first time in two years, there was a feeling of relief this summer as the greatest outdoor show on earth began. We’re back, and we’re betting than ever.

This year had everything we love about the Stampede: community, pancakes, western wear, sportsmanship, two-stepping, sky-high rides and more! The feeling on the grounds was electric. Stampede season is in full swing! We hope that the rain has not dampened your spirits at all and that you take time to celebrate and go have fun. Nothing kicks off a great summer in YYC quite like the Stampede. By now, most people know the basics about the Stampede: it’s called the largest outdoor show on earth, there is a rodeo where you can win big money, the midway is full of quirky food, etc.. However, here are some interesting facts about the Calgary Stampede that you may not know:

It's Christmas morning for cowboys and cowgirls everywhere as Stampede officially kicks off! The greatest outdoor show on earth attracts millions to Calgary every single summer and has been a wild hit since its inception in 1912. While some Calgarians roll their eyes as tourists flock to our city, we feel proud to live in a place that hosts such a fantastic event focused on sportsmanship and the wild, wild west. The Calgary Stampede has been wowing attendees for over 100 years, and this year will be no different.
