May 4th || Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you...)

May 5th, 12th & 19th || Free Compost Day || Calgary Compost Facility || This exciting opportunity is thanks to the City of Calgary who is "offering free compost for residents to use in their yards and gardens this spring. The compost is made from the food and yard waste collected in the Green Cart Program" (City of Calgary). Take advantage of this FREE event that will help your garden flourish! While you're at it, stop by a Starbucks and pick up some free coffee grounds to sprinkle into the mix - rumor has it coffee grounds are great for growing tomatoes. Get more information HERE.

There is lots happening in the community of Bowness right now! Here are some of the highlights:

  • On December 2nd the Bowness Community Association will be hosting their annual Christmas Dinner. Make sure you have your tickets (note: there is a limit of four tickets per Bowness resident). The BCA is in need of volunteers for this event, which is a fantastic way to serve the community and spread a little Christmas cheer. Click here to find the online volunteer application.
