Having a home theatre produces a rather romantic vision. Plush seating, tasty treats, moody lighting, your favorite film on the big screen, surrounded by loved ones—or enjoying some much needed alone time. It’s easy to imagine grand home theatres in large homes where money is no issue, but what about for the average person?

We’re here to tell you that your home theatre dreams are possible, no matter what your budget. Here are some tips on how to create the perfect home theatre:

1). Choose your space. This could be where your TV screen already sits, or it could be a newly designated room. Whether your home theatre exists on its own or in the living room, it’s going to be great. Make sure it’s a space that can be quiet and calm, uninterrupted.

Even when the market is hot, you need to make sure that your home stands above the rest! One way you can do this is by completing some simple home upgrades that don't break the bank, but will have a major return when the offers land on the table. Here are four small things you can do to help your home sell:

Window Treatments: Windows are a big deal for buyers. The Spruce writes, "dreary draperies, torn window shades, or bent mini-blinds will do nothing to sell a home faster. Remove these outdated items and replace them with simple white mini-blinds or wood blinds cut-to-measure at a home center. This is a fairly simple fix that can refresh your rooms in just one weekend."

Smart Home Technology: Many of today's home buyers are Millennials and Gen…

This is unfortunate, but a necessary precaution as mass gatherings aren't safe to participate in.

With the uncertainty of Alberta's COVID restrictions looming, instead of giving you a list of events happening around the city that could all change completely, we thought we would provide you with fun activities that you can do no matter what state the province is in. These three activities will…

With Christmas over, Calgarians are buckling back down and tightening their purse strings. With this in mind, here are some fun and free activities to enjoy in the wintertime:

  • Kananaskis Hiking: Calgary is at the doorstep of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Whether you are a seasoned climber or a novice hiker, there are trails for all skill levels and age groups. Places like the grotto offer an incredible peak into the indigenous hieroglyphics, and there is even a cold war bunker you can hike up to in Heart Creek. You don't have to scale a mountain, but it is nice to get some fresh air and enjoy everything the mountains have to offer. Pack a lunch and some snacks and enjoy!
  • Studio Bell: Much like the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville,…

1). Give yourself some time. While last minute parties are all fun and games, they typically lead to incredible amounts of unnecessary stress. Typically two weeks notice is an appropriate amount of time for yourself and guests, however since the holidays are such a busy time we recommend sending invites at least three weeks before the big day.

2). Plan ahead. Make your shopping lists, start crafting the decor and prepare as much food as early on as possible. Lots of desserts, like pies and cookies, can be made in advance. Even some main course items can be made ahead of time. The more you can get done before the event, the less…
